Journey Beyond Code: From IT Employee to Property Investor

In January 2020, I migrated to Australia, with a background in IT - Quality Assurance Engineering. Luckly I was having a job offer even before landing here.

Merely a month into our new life down under, it was COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a severe lockdown and a shift to work from home.

One day while speaking with a friend, I came to know that owning a home could be achieved with some initial deposits. One thing which was stuck in our mind was, it makes sense to pay mortgage to bank instead of paying rent to homeowner that way we will also have equity.

Finally decided to start the journey of Investment. I began exploring the real estate market through open houses, seminars, webinars, and 1:1 meeting with real estate agents. Within few months we signed a home and land package deal in Schofields, NSW.

Securing the initial deposit was quite a task, involving pulling together all my savings from India and piecing together the rest from different sources.

After land settlement, house construction started and meanwhile, we were blessed with our first kid. In 2021 we moved to our new home and realized that because of great asset selection we had accrued substantial equity, presenting an opportunity to venture into property investment.

I started to read more about property investment through videos, blogs, and online courses. And by 2023 we had purchased a total of 10 properties in 5 different states collectively valued around $6 million.

My evident passion and success in real estate led friends, families and colleagues to seek my guidance. I was able to assist them in acquiring properties across states by employing effective strategies and leveraging my professional network, thus replicating my success.

This desire to help others in navigating the property market was the driving force behind the creation of "Grow Your Portfolio". Our primary mission is to assist busy families in building wealth, securing their futures, and setting the stage for early retirement.
